Getting my story in order

So aside from the number of other ideas that I have floating around in my head, I am always drawn back to the story that I really want to write: The Witchkin Chronicles.

The idea for the Witchkin Chronicles came to me when ideas come to me best, when I was procrastinating on something more important. Generally this happens at work, and if I think back to it, yes this idea came from there as well.

The story is set in the fantasy world of Areolia. A world of magic and religion. Where mythical creatures are made real by a force referred to as aether. The Witchkin Chronicles follows one such creature, known as a Witchkin, as she seeks her “Sister” who has been captured by a man who is rounding up magic users to right a wrong against his country 100 years prior.

This week has been all about learning how to use the program Scrivener, to begin to gather my scenes and notes onto something resembling a story. It is only when I actually start to combine some of my notes that I am finding out more about the characters, the relationships between them and the nature of magic in Areolia.

So not a long post this week, just a note to say that I am working on something bigger and hope to be able to share a taste in the next couple of weeks.
